Beyond changing interfaces, user research can be used to influence big decisions. In this talk, we'll go over the research that's most critical at every stage of product development, from generative to evaluative research, and how to draw valuable user insights from each type of research. We'll also cover the three ways human-centered design impacts government—service delivery, contracting, and policy. Finally, attendees will learn how to use different communication techniques for presenting user research to executives (as opposed to product and engineering stakeholders).
Design Thinking is a critical process that unlocks our potential for creative problem-solving—not just a toolkit for designers and innovators. Design Thinking is expanding the notion of how students learn critical-thinking skills, and changing the classroom dynamic from stand-and-deliver to intrinsically motivated problem-solving.
In this talk, you'll see how design thinking is impacting education and walk-away with new concepts that you can apply to your own career advancement.
